Help LG Optimus T-T-Mobile stuck at LG screen

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to solve this? I want to get to the main menu so I can transfer some important text messages to my new phone. T-Mobile said they cannot help me. It stays in the LG screen and goes no further. If I plug it in the computer, after awhile it will go to a yellowish/white screen, but I can't get to the home screen at all. This is real important to me. HELP!!!
