Help LG Optimus V does not show "USB connected" notification.

I have an LG Optimus V, and I have had this phone since mid-April. For a while, I had been using the stock usb to mini usb cable on my Mac for at least 3 months. Recently I purchased a third party charger, that has been working fine, but I just noticed the other day that the little "USB Connected" notification that used to show up whenever I would plug it in is now gone. How can I solve this? I'd like to have the ability to access my files again.

Wow, I'm sorry. I didn't notice this was the sub-forum for the LG Ally. Silly me. When I googled "droid forums lg," this came up. If a mod could move this to the correct forum, it would be much appreciated.
