LG relased the ICS open source Kernel!

true.... i keep thinking the spectrum may hold all of our secrets... considering the root tool from gb spectrum will root the gb lucid. the ics spectrum root tool also roots the ics lucid....

i have not been ballsy enough to try the ics spectrum unlock tool.... the spectrum unlock tool replaces the kernel with one created from a hybrid gb/ics spectrum kernel to get cm9 working before ics was released....but it has broken bluetooth and will not tether wireless properly. Spectrum guys have been waiting on the open source kernel code to see what can be fixed and move onto cm10. The lucid source code was released at the same time as the spectrum code. I know our "vs"840 lucids are basically the "ms"840 connect, but i believe we share the software architecture as the "vs"920 spectrums.

my thoughts are if we are able to take that spectrum tool and change the kernel out with our own stock ics one...we maybe able to unlock our lucids. I know there is more to it than that. i just think we share alot of the same boot block info so we could do this....i just do not know enough really to do this task. I will learn what I can.

I agree with your thoughts that the 840 is built on the same architecture as the 920s, just with a underclocked cpu and over volted battery. I am hoping with the ICS kernel now being released we can rectify that.

Do you know if this will work with LGNPST?
