Help LG Revolution wifi and mobile data

I have an LG Revolutin and I noticed some strange behaviour. The mobile data icon stays on when I connect to Wifi and it even stays on when I manually turn off data through the Settings menu. If I use a tooll like Dataswitch the icon goes away, but I never had to do that with any of my other phones.

The other issue with wifi that I'm having is that if I set the Wifi sleep policy to turn off after 15 mins of inactivity it can't reconnect after it turns itself off. So when I start using the phone again it just keeps trying to obtain the IP address of the network without ever succeeding. I've tried this on multiple networks. I have to turn off wifi and then turn it back on.

Are you guys seeing the same issues with your LG Revolution? These issues aren't big but they're starting to make me question the quality of the LG Revolution and I may exchange it for the Charge.

I think you should confirm the Charge doesn't behave the same way before you jump ship. I'm betting it's an OS issue and not a vendor issue. The behavior you describe doesn't surprise me, but it might work differently under Gingerbread. (If anyone knows, please chime in.) - MarkC

My Data icon is also in the notification area as well but is inactive when wi-fi is on. My prior T-Bolt and Droid X did not behave that way. When I turned on wi-fi, the data icon would disappear on those two devices. I work from home so I'm always on wi-fi, hence why I leave mine on with no sleep policy and in doing so it doesn't affect battery life.

I've had my Revo for 2 weeks now, so far so good. With moderate use, I can go all day 8am to 11pm and be at about 25% battery left, and that includes leaving wi-fi on (no sleep) VLS & GLS on, no GPS; screen timeout is 1 minute, no live wallpaper, screen brightness set to auto.
