I dont know if it would be of any benefit to anyone or not but there is an app called any cut... this allows you to bypass the MLS and put a shortcut on your home screen for a whole schlew of options that were not previously possible for the v. I got bored and started just randomly checking to see what some of them were. If you still have your original ROM on your phone there is a shortcut that you can create called servicesLG that allows you into a lot of settings that are well over my head as far as how to use.... however... I did discover that this has a PPP carrier select in it... I assumed that it was only for a sprint network... that is until I saw Verizon listed.... so I am assuming this is a factory work around for a service provider... there is also a bluetooth section and it has the ability to just view or edit the data lines directly in the phone... There is also something that I saw that showed the speed of the DL UL speeds, however I dont remember where. there is also a call forwarding tab and an audio balance (gain) equalizer. Unfortunately there are several createable shortcuts aka work arounds that lead to unusuable sources, I am working on a list of the ones that have functions that I dont know how to use and it is a rather large list.... now, how to use this thing.
first, download anycut
second, the app will ask you if you want to create a new shortcut or edit an existing one. select create a new one
third, you will see a screen that allows you to choose direct call direct texting, activity, or create your own. choose activity
scroll down and you will see servicesLG. this will allow you into a config menu.
Like I said when I started this, Im not sure if it is of any use to anyone and Im not really sure of what its all used for, but hopefully someone can chime in and use it to assist in the use of the v.
