Help LG Spectrum losing bluetooth connectivity

groat04

Newbie
I have been having major bluetooth problems. I have set up bluetoooth several times, but after a few connections it just searches until it times out or reboots. Only after I reboot the phone, sometimes mulitple times, am I able to connect to the bluetooth. Unfortunately after it connects it often drops bluetooth connectivity after a few connections. I think this is a problem other are having based on verizon community post below:

I got a refrubished phone from Verizon for this issue, but I ham having the same problem.

Does anyone have a solutions?

I wish I could help you. Kinda lame no one has tried. I personally don't use bluetooth so have no experience with it. I do know that others use bluetooth with no problems, so there must be a fix for it.

+1 on all accounts.

Groat just to get some mor einfo that might assist someone else in helping... Are you rooted? Running a custom rom or kernel? Frozen any apps if you are rooted?

I am not rooted and don't run any custom kernels. I have about 25 apps on my phone. I got the response below from Verizon:

Dear Tina,

Good afternoon Tina, I hope you are having a marvelous Monday! My name is Regina and I will be delighted to assist you with your device issues. I understand the importance to be able to use your Bluetooth. I am sorry the device will not stay connected. Please accept our apologies for the delay in our response due to the higher than normal e-mail volume.

Tina, it is unfortunate your Bluetooth will not stay connected since your software update. I am sorry to inform you this is a known issue and at this time there is no workable resolution. Once a fix is in place, you will be informed of the new update. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Once again, my name is Regina and it was a pleasure to address your device issues and I hope we have a resolution quickly. Tina, we appreciate your communication with us and thanks for being a part of the Verizon Wireless Family. Please enjoy your week!

Sincerely,

Regina

Most of the time when I get in my car, only the phone profile connects, leaving my stereo profile unconnected. If I disconnect the phone to car connection and re-connect, I'm generally good to go.

Wish it would always connect automatically.

Sorry about the lack of help you are getting, trust me it is not because no one is reading. I actually removed Bluetooth from the Rom before flashing it to my phone so I could not test it if I tried.

I got a refirbished phone that had same exact bluetooth issue. Then the GPS stopped working also. Verizon is now shipping me a HTC Rezound- I will NEVER buy another LG phone.

HTC rezound is plagued with bugs.

You either had bad luck or don't know what the heck you are doing. I've only had one spectrum I bought new back in march.

It's very strange to me how the same people are constantly needing new phones over and over.

one of the guys at work has 2 favorite words whenever anyone messes up...operator error lol

My Rezound had serious overheating problem, specifically on 4G and with navigation. I was glad to move from that phone. No amount of development happiness can make up for screwy hardware issues.

Spectrum may not have as much development but has a bigger display and runs cooler. Can't beat the hardware.

I concurr about the hardware. Best Android I've ever owned, and I'm still running stock. I've had two phones (first was "lost" to the road gods as I left it on the hood of my car, and when I hit highway speeds, it left my car only to be crushed by the car following me).

Both have been operationally solid considering the amount I've got loaded. If things get a bit quirky, all I do is power down, and back up.

One nuisance is the phone not connecting the stereo bluetooth audio profile with my car radio, but I have a work-around. One legit issue is that even when charging in the car, the phone while using NAV with the screen on depleats the battery.
