There can be a lot of different issues with pairing the Six Axis with any Android device. Have a look here..

I'm thinking, though, that the root procedure you implemented may have disrupted the pairing path in some way. Here's the Spirit 4G All Things Root area for you to search and read around; lots of Spirit users who have rooted in there.
