I have had this LG Stylo phone for only eight months, yet all but 500mb of data remain on the internal storage capacity. I don't download many games or apps and have plenty of space on my installed SD card. This phone has 8gb of internal storage and the system data is using 5.48 GB. Having updated the OS to Android version 6.0, I thought that I would be able to format my SD card for use as an internal storage device for the phone to expand the internal memory and stop the phone from freezing or slowing down occasionally. Has anyone tried to do this with success?

LG disabled the control for adoptable storage. You can activate it without root via ADB.

That's for the G4 but should work for you. You won't be rooted so you're not going to accidentally brick your phone.
