Root LG Tribute Stock ZV5 Deodexed & Unmodified [4.4.2]

Mine..2.53GB. I'm glad your network is fixed. Thank the guys over at the LG F3 AS8v22 rom forum for that advice. That rom loaded the same way. (my old man still has my old phone running that rom.) Maybe an LG thing? Who knows?!

Got Sony Walkman 8.5.A.3.2 by Ibanez7 working beautifully in this rom. Album art & visualizer also works. This is what I've been waiting for! Happily customizing my android life from here!

I'm getting the binary error with the latest 1c, could someone whos flashed it correctly, yank and post just the update binary please?

Edit: Nevermind I fixed it, its because wiping the system wipes SU, so I just rebooted to recovery from twrp, got the promt to install SU, did it, and was able to flash it afterwards without issue, hope this helps others with the same problem.

Update: Even though I had SU installed, I still needed to reroot after flashing, no worries though. Everything is running flawlessly now! I think the issue was probably with TWRP being a bumped image, not the Rom itself.

I'm not sure exactly where I found these, however, to my knowledge they were built using the source code for our phone. This is the gallery and the calculator for the stock Tribute that were not included with our phones because... well... Google. Thought I'd dump them here. Seems like a good place for them. Place them in system/PRIV-APP, set permissions to rw-r--r--, reboot, profit!

Thanks for posting the Gallery.apk. I wanted that one! I've been using QuickPics.
I used a downloaded SuperSU I got from XDA Dev site. I keep a copy on my external sd card. I flashed that copy after flashing the rom. I also installed Busybox & updated the binary. Just in case the dev is a little behind in updating their stuff. They do get busy!
Maybe that's why I have no binary issues, because Busybox updated it? I'm only a retired Windows tech, so Androids are new to me. I'm just guessing here.

So far this rom is working good. Using as a daily driver. Not yet tested for wifi tethering to a computer as i do not know if this rom has it built in or if i have to find a 3rd party app for that. Link2sd working great also on this rom. Oh calculator app i have missed you so much!

It's okay SuperR. Another lesson I learned back as an IHO Backside rom user (in ancient times!)...be self sufficient!
Devs are busy...developing and fixing issues that self sufficient folks just can't fix. I learned along time ago to try to fix as much as I can, relay my results, then ask for advice.
It's really pretty common to have to update SuperSU & Busybox binaries in a custom rom. I've run Backside IHO, PACMan, Slimbean, and a few customized stock ones over the years. I've learned that if I start getting fc's, failed loads, or other binary issues, updates are needed. No biggie!
As a note...my boot animation looks..MAAAVALOUS! Thanks!

I successfully flashed the ROM, it worked no problem on Virgin Mobile 1st try! Although I noticed when I tried to flash a backup it booted back to twrp immediately, so I flashed the lollipop ROM from unjustified dev, to get it back to odex in think? Not sure but I've since flashed my backup to zv5 & I'm all set so that's why I have that theory. Anyway keep up the great work!

Reporting on Wifi Tether Router app by Fabio Grasso on Google Play as working perfectly. Tethered to Acer Aspire One D255E running Windows 10 Evaluation Copy 10130. Everything works great on this rom. Flash with confidence guys! I give it two thumbs up!

If you ever need a "full reboot" of the Zv5 rom, there's one listed in this forum... LG Tribute LS660 Stock Rooted Zv5 ROM by lord_reaper26. It's odexed. If you're already upgraded to Zv5, and need a reflash, use that one. It'll work as long as you've got recovery. Download it and save it. Just in case.

Cool thanx Nanny, I actually used that like 3 weeks ago to restore ZV5 when I lost my original backup! Like I said in my post when I tried to restore my odexed backup I had just previously flashed the deodexed ROM so I'm imagining that's why it wouldn't work. But I flashed the lollipop ROM, than restored my backup again & voila! So I'm hoping we can get some better lollipop roms soon too! Thank You to all the Dev's who make these roms! Thank You!

SuperR...a tech question posed by a friend of mine...will this rom work for the LG Transpyre on Verizon?
To be honest, I do not know enough about these devices to answer properly. If it is the same device but rebranded it will probably boot, but carrier data may be broken.

Added a completely unmodified stock ZV5 to the OP. It is not rooted or modified in any way. This will be useful when you get updates because they won't work if anything is missing or changed :)

Does it also have the Zv5 stock recovery? System updates will cause a boot loop if twrp is installed. PRL and profile updates aren't an issue regardless of modifications. Some people over on xda had huge problems going from Zv4 to Zv5 because of it. I assume the same would be true if Lollipop hits us later this year. I can upload it if you want it. I was planning to anyhow.

It does not include stock recovery. Please upload and I will post a flashable in the OP. Thanks

Do you currently have a way to get into recovery from power off on this device? I ask because I built TWRP for this device a while back that disables the LG factory reset from the button combo while powered off. Just wondering if I should post it. No need if you already have a way to do this.

Thanks for the reply. I told my friend he would have to do his own research on it. The Transpyre may be different somehow, or just rebranded. I don't know either. He was just..drooling over the mods in mine! hehehe!

Deodexed v2 posted in the OP. Updated SuperSU, su binary, busybox.

Added a link to a zip with all the deodexed files I removed from the stock rom in case anyone wants them.

We have one. Vol down+power. Must be held until it boots into it.

This rom in this phone would be a perfect combo if...we had a way to swap the external sd & internal memories. I had sd swap fx3 by urgero. Worked perfect. I would love to have a "swapped" sd memory!

This is really nice to have now. I have been waiting for it for a long time. I see you added the LG Keyboard into it in the deodexed V2.
