Help Lg volt audio problems

I unplugged my JVC earbuds from my phone (Lg Volt)and when i plugged them back in my phone didnt detect them and my phones speaker started playing.The earbuds do work on other devices and my phone recognizes other earbuds/headphones besides mine. What can be the problem?
