Hi Everyone,
I've never flashed a phone before I had to do it to my LG Volt. It started when the Stock was constantly freezing. It was freezing so much that it wouldn't allow me to do anything. So, I figured that the phone needed to be flashed. Especially since I had factory reset it dozens of times before with no luck. Anyways, The first time I flashed it the phone worked very well for about a month. I used LG Flash Tool v.1.8.1.1023 and the LS740ZV3_17.33030_Secure.tot file. Once installed the phone worked very well however some parts that used to say Virgin Mobile were replaced with LG and the Virgin Mobile Zone App was no longer present. The phone updated to the LS740V6 After about a month the phone started to freeze again and again. So, I flashed it again. It worked for a little while then froze and froze. Here I am again asking help to see if anything I did was wrong because it still continues to freeze. Not as bad but enough to get annoyed.
My Steps to Flashing:
1. Download LG Drivers, LS740ZV3_17.33030_Secure.tot File, .dll file, and the LG Flash tool.
2. Move the .dll file into the LG Flash tool folder. It will ask to replace the old file. Press Replace.
3. Then open up the flash tool. Select Manual Mode. Add the .dll file to the DLL section then add the .tot file to the S/W file. Make sure to select "Board DL" Then press OK.
4. Make sure to us COM 41. (Port 1) You can choose that port in the settings menu. Also, Change the port for LGE Drivers in "Devices Manager" to COM 41.
5. Put LG Volt in download/recover mode while plugged in to the PC. Hit the Yellow Arrow on the top left.
6. It will begin the download and you wait while the LG Volt is installing the new ROM. Once complete the LG Flash tool will say "Waiting to Restart (20 sec)" Then the LG Volt takes about 5 minutes to restart. It goes into the Mini OS. Go through the options and have it reboot in normal mode. It started to turn on and then LG Flash Tool says failed. But, the Volt turns on and is working fine. Then it downloaded all the updates and installs the successfully. It is then up to date with LS740V6. I always delete the unneeded stuff like Google Books, Movies, Music, Chrome, Etc. Any idea why it would start freezing and mess up after a few days of using it??
Think it would be better to install cyanogenmod?
