Root LG Volt Root Help!

Hello,
Thank you for taking your time in reading as well as responding to my inquiry. I have had an LG Volt for several months now and I have scoured countless sites and threads to find my answer to no prevail.
I simply need an legit way of rooting my LG Volt LGLS740ZV6 LG740 Android 4.4.2
Any advice is appreciated. I have read many others responses which few have stated that V6 can not be rooted. If this is the case, what do I need to make it rootable and will I lose any saved data?

The thread Presidente posted contains all your options. Should the two choices valid for you not work for some reason, then use the depreciated method.
