Root LGMS690 OC Question

Im rooted with a custom rom with 2.2.1 on a LGMS690. I've been dying to OC my phone and from everything I've read there isn't an oc kernel out yet for 2.2.1. I was just wondering if anything has changed because I did read someone that someone was working on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated... Thanks...

At the moment it's still up in the air. LG hasn't released the 2.2.1 source code for our phone which would let those with the know how access the necessary info to OC it.

there was a few people working on it. i myself have taken stabs at it too, the issue is that LG seems reluctant to release the source for 2.2.1 so those of us wanting too are stuck with trying to HEX edit our selfs one.

How hard is it exactly to "hex edit" a kernel to oc? I would like to consider myself fairly technical, and I'm pretty good at teaching myself how to do things with electronics. If its feasible I wouldn't mind trying to help in making an oc kernel.... Even if it is somewhat from scratch.
