Light Sensor Driver

Hello everyone. My wife and I are enjoying our rooted Exihbit II's running on the TMO monthly plan that allows two phones with unlimited voice/text/data for $99. The first 2GB are 4g and I gather it drops to EDGE if you exceed it.

Anyway, it sounds like the phone has a light sensor that would allow auto brightness, but that no drivers are installed. Is there any way to install light sensor drivers?

Thank you.

Where did you find that the phone has it? I thought I saw that somewhere before too, I would love auto brightness on this phone

Searching online, people think that one of the two sensors you can see to the left of the earpiece is a light sensor (the other being the proximity sensor), and the phone documentation mentions auto-dimming. If you shine a flashlight though the glass just to the left of the earpiece you can see them easily. I gather the Exhibit I has a sensor, so on other forums they have concluded that the drivers were not installed.

I am a newb so other than basic rooting and removing bloatware, I don't know how to confirm any of this.
