Light Sensor on G1

Inspired by reading a different thread about wishing that the backlit keyboard would stay off during the day, and remain on when active while in dark surroundings,

wouldn't it be awesome if they had a little light sensor built in, think of the possibilities for developers.

either that or the ability to use the G1 as a light saber. I can't decide which would be better.

light sensor would be a really nice feature but would use up our already short battery life.
