Light user battery expectancy.....

Hey all,

I'm considering the Moto Style but have some concerns over the 3000mah battery, shall we say, less than favourable reports!

As I'm what you would class as a light user - would it be unreasonable to expect a full day out of it?

Another question: Antenna strength. Would someone give me a quick run-down as to how good the antenna is in the Moto Play? My iPhone 6s seems weaker than other phones in my household. Heck - even my back-up Moto G 3rd gen has a better antenna than my iPhone 6s.

Many thanks.

Battery use is subjective. Could you give us an idea of how you use your phone on a normal day? A heavy gamer or if you watch videos all day will really shorten battery life. If you make some calls, texts and emails with light surfing, it should last more than a day. I have the Nexus 6 (Motorola XT1103) with a 3220 mA battery and slightly larger display than the Style and even on heavy use days, it lasts for the full day.

As for antennas/radios ... Motorola has always excelled in that area. They are stellar.

Medium use day with my XPE. Emails, camera and web forums and research. No games.

I would put myself in the medium usage category and get a full day at least. I do use it a lot on wi-fi which does help. I have no complaints about battery life, it's more than adequate for watching short video, listening to tunes, tweeting and checking Feedly and email (and, of course, here!).

Moto radios are, imo, the best out there. I stick with Moto for that reason alone.

I looked into it once but can't remember. It should pop up again by end of day. I think it was battery loss not accounted for by other processes/apps. I post screen shot when I can.

I have NEVER seen that. Maybe my battery was made by the magical unicorn division of Motorola ;)

I'm at about 70% with an hour and a half of screen on time. Says I have about 15 hours left.

Really depending on usage, you can make a day. I took it off the charger at about 5am the other day, and during light usage and whatnot, by 5pm I was at about 70%.

Just depends on what you do and how you use it, brightness settings, Wifi, bluetooth, etc.

As far as reception, it seems good to me.

-116 dBm 24 asu. (No idea what any of that means. But hey, its there for you) and that's at home, not in the city or anything where coverage is expected to be better. No dropped calls or anything here.

All in all I'd recommend the phone. I actually gave up a note 4 for it.
