Lighting up when message or calling?

How do,

When i receive a message my phone doesnt light up, i just get my ringtone/vibration and the little green light. is thier anyway of getting the phone to light up apart from me clicking the lock key at the top, Also when i make a phone call it goes black, how do i chance the Backlight is it to stay on?

Not sure about letting the screen light up, but the thing about the phone going black, it could be because of the proximity sensor. Ensure your hand isn't covering the screen. Hope it helps!

Ah i see what you meen when you say the sensor. Just rang up and put my hand over phone and went of then took it away and it lit up.
