Limited Edition Galaxy tab 10.1 ADVICE

I won an auction on ebay for a limited edition galaxy tab 10.1 and don't know if I should go ahead and make the purchase because since i made the purchase I just wanted to double check if I really made the right move. On all the positive sides of the tab I like the size and weight speed picture etc.

Then I started to find out its dirty little secrets from people online and started getting scared. The oil slicks, not being able to power it on unless you plug it into a jack, the power button not working, the screen being unresponsive to the point that you have to reboot it.

Please let me know what you think I should do. I don't want to get screwed out of $500 for something like this.

What I'm looking for by posting this is how many people in the world really have all of these different problems? Also, does the limited edition tab have a warranty on it since it was given as a gift at a conference, if so how long is it good until?
 
I dont know about the LE version, but I have not experienced any problems you describe with the 4G version. However the 4G version came out a few months later IIRC.

As for the warranty, hard to say -- it may depend on your state, but if you cannot find out for sure I guess it's safer to assume no warranty.
 
I am on my 3rd one due to the oil slick. The 1st I had bought on day 1 of UK release. Happened after a month. I took it into pc world and they just swapped it for me. Happened again a week later, same, they just gave me another one. So far do good another month later. Think I was just unlucky. Not sure how the warranty will work for you though, would have to send it off to samsung. I'm assuming as is a known fault that they would sort it out but who knows?
 
I've had mine for several month, use it daily and have no issues.

Remember, on these forums, people with problems post. if you have no problems, you don't post.

That's true, so I'm posting to say that my 2 month old Tab is working great. It's a 3G version though, but I use it daily too, so any issues should have shown up by now.

Just wanted to thank you guys for all the input....i am now a proud owner of a tab 10.1 now im hunting down some apps to truely enjoy it!
 
So far I'm in love with it except for a couple of things. #1 wifi seems to work whenever it likes randomly. #2 the android market doesn't tell you if something is tablet optimized which would def be a plus. #3 Netflix quality looks like crap but YouTube videos look sharp and clean so I don't understand. Other than that this thing is great!!!
