Until January 5, 2015 Boost has an offer to double the amount of data before throttling and pay $5 less for their current plans. The special rates:

$35 - 1GB
$45 - 5GB
$55 - 10GB

What else do you need to know?


  1. Data Boost Plans are available on ALL phones.
  2. Data Boost Plans are available to new and existing customers. New customers must activate the Data Boost Plan by January 5, 2015. Existing customers must switch to the Data Boost Plan in My Account by January 5, 2015.

I like my $40 2.5GB plan. Wouldn't want to switch to the $45 5GB plan then after a few months in it gets discontinued forcing me to choose between the current $50 and $60 plans. Correct me if I'm wrong but in reading the T&C I don't see how long this plan is good before data reverts back and is cut in half. So far I've had great coverage with Boost and come close to the throttle threshold but never exceeded because I use wifi at home and work. But if these plans won't change unless you switch phones then these look like really good deals.

You would just stay on your current plan.

I didn't see that either. I would guess that if you sign up you can keep the rate, but several other carriers (T-Mobile is one) are doing special prices only until 2016.
 
Depends on how often T-Mobile changes plans. Sprint seems determined to out do them. We should hopefully benefit from it.
 
Have to say... that 45 dollar plan for unlimited talk/text/5GB is quite tempting. Especially considering Best Buy has the LG Volt for Boost on sale right now for 79.99...

I have to say, I used to have Boost, and they were usually really good with their stuff like plans. I'm sure once you go on one of these plans, you'd keep them permanently.
 
I am loving this $55 10GB plan. I might not get throttled this month. Great deal for me from the $60 5GB plan.

Hope these plans stay permanently. I see that the carriers are starting to add more data to their plan options.
 
I have contacted Boost about some of the questions in this thread myself. You will not be require to change your data plan.

The promotion period does not end if you switch before November 3rd. Once you get the double data promotion, you have it for as long as you continue your contract with them. They will not revert your data back and put you back at half the value.

Also, I clarified with them that even if you switch your phone in the future, you will continue to have the double data promotion contract. Upgrading or switching phones on this contract will not cancel your double data.
 
So i made the switch today but it takes effect on my next bill which was paid yesterday. My question is I should get this rate because i signed up before the cut off date correct?
 
Apparently they changed the deadline for the sign up or something like that? I think they bumped it up to January 2015. nice. I may have to try it out now.

nice, i guess i'll be watching to see what boost has for black friday/cyber monday.
