Root [Link] Amon-RA 2.2.1 latest recovery in all in one recovery forum. (Compatible with Shine Plus)

Hello everyone, time to put on your thinking caps!

Now that root is achieved with Gingerbread, the next logical step for the Shine Plus would be Nandroid. I've managed with dsi's thread to get the current recovery on there, but we have an issue during restore. The following error happens when a restore is done:

* "Error: run nandroid-mobile.sh restore" via adb

Good news is, old nandroid backups restore! So going back to 2.1 is possible! This might help people restore old images to try and do the 2.3 gingerbread upgrade again!

I'll be digging up some information for a new recovery, if anyone's willing to help out now's the time!

*Edit* After muddling around, I was able to restore a Nandroid of 2.3.3. The only catch is it cannot restore .Android_secure! Will post more as it develops. I've solicited the help of getitnowmarketing and dsi to see if we can get an updated recovery.

ok, so a recovery installer link with instructions and a 2.1 nandroid would be really cool. I suppose they exist but I'm totally unclear as to where to find them.

I'll keep looking, but congrats on the hard work and I hope this can become the perfect fully functional recovery for this cool but os-bugged little phone :-)

There seems to be an issue with the 2.1 restore, the kernel doesn't restore properly or the phone itself when upgraded to 2.3.3 has a no SIM, no IMEI error... Need to investigate on the matter.

2.1 stock ROM and 2.1 modded ROM are in dsi's thread "Custom roms for Shine Plus finally here!!" with full instructions on flashing the recovery, installing ROMs, etc.

Thanks for the reply and I answered on twitter that the current recovery seems to be working out ok for us. We're still having issues going back and forth between 2.1 and 2.3 though, but we'll eventually work around that. ;)

Good work Karender.

You can remove Talk.apk as talk2.apk replaces it. I took your rom and removed a few more things including the lg touch screen keyboard, it feels snappier now.

Hopefully we can get a custom kernal going soon for this phone.

Yeah, haven't had time to give the final update more work. I'll do that for the final release.

As for custom kernels, I don't think LG updated their source yet... And even if they did, I'm not good enough with source, so I couldn't compile it anyways. ;)
