Link Notification and Ringer Volume

Hi

I searched for this but was surprised that no results came up - theres a lot of other interest on the web.

I recently upgraded to a galaxy s3 - Im running ICS 4.0.4 LFB according to kIES.

Is there a way to link the ringer and notification volumes so I can use the volume buttons to control both together?

I used to have this problem with my galaxy s, and used an app (mySettings?) to get round this problem. Ive tried this, and other apps, for the S3 and none seem to work.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm so sorry that it doesn't work as it should on your S3, it works perfectly on my antique tablet. Hopefully the dev will come out with a fix quickly. Unfortunately I don't know of other apps that do as you require; though I'm certain they'll exist.
Good luck and happy hunting.

Quick Settings didn't work for me as the option to link them was greyed out.

Luckily I had already purchased Tasker so I configured a profile to change the notification volume whenever the ringer volume changed.

Profile: Volume Control
Context: Event > Variable > Variable Set: %VOLR > Task: Volume Changer

Task: Volume Changer
Audio Settings > Notification Volume: %VOLR

Hope this helps someone!

That sounds like exactly what I need! But I've downloaded Tasker and tried to create the profile you've suggested. However, I'm getting stuck as I can only seem to set the notification volume to a specified level, rather than move it up or down by the same amount as the ringer.

Any help would be very gratefully received!

EDIT: I found my answer on the Tasker forum:

What a great app.
