Root Link2sd or foldermount?

I've rooted.

Should I integrate upgraded system apps into system to save space, or is it not safe? I hard bricked my L70 without recovery, (which was an awesome phone for the price and seemed to be faster than this phone), so I'm being very cautious.

Also should I use foldermount or link2sd? I am on stock 5.0.2

I am going to do a twrp backup for sure, before I do anything!
