Links not connecting

I seem to have stopped my Galaxy 8 phone from connecting, possibly through Google. When I enter a query in the Google search space, I'm taken to the title link, but nothing happens when I tap on it. I think I may have disabled a crucial app, but I don't know which one, or what to do about it. Can anyone help?

is the phone rooted? maybe try disabling preferences. but if you do that you will disable all of your apps preferences and will have do adjust each app one by one again.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I don't know what you mean by 'is the phone rooted?' Could you explain that, please, and also advise me about how to 'disble preferences'?
