Linux users, post your specs!

Resident Linux Nutcase
Well, why not? I see custom rigs and I'm just curious. I KNOW I'm not the only Linux user here. (Looking at you, SURoot. With your Ubuntu avatar!)

So what I want! I want to see what YOU are running.

Post the output here of inxi -F. (Or inxi -Fz to filter IP and whatnot)

Oh, and not all distros have inxi installed. You may need to install it. But do it! Don't be lazy :smokingsomb:

Fedora doesn't have that package but the gist of what I have is simple

Fedora 17 Gnome
dual core amd processor (HP Laptop Pavilion dv6)
6 gigs of RAM
500 gig Internal Harddrive (boot drive / swap / root / home)
1. Terrabyte External Seagate
750 gig external toshiba

Server 1 and 2 have fedora LXDE and both are older desktops that have been converted 1 is a file server and the other a print server. neither have specs worth mentioning

Nice specs! I like it. I need to upgrade my ram soon in my laptop, I think.

Um ... I'm embarrassed to admit this but I'm only running 32-bit at the moment. The laptop came with 4 GB ram so it didn't make much of a difference, but since bumping up to 8 GB, I've been too lazy to install 64-bit Ubuntu (Probably because I have never warmed up to Unity).

How do you like Mageia? is it a lot like Mandriva? better?
I've installed the first beta and haven't switched since, except for Salix. It is a fork of Mandriva but better, imho. It uses some tools of Mdv, and it comes with KDE by default and recently switched from Gnome2 to Gnome3, which I do not like as much as G2 but using the fallback mode just to check it out. Since I have a low specs machine, I use Openbox as my main environment.

I'm in the process of purchasing a used C2D from ebay and will be installing Mga2 or Beta 3 on it. It will have better specs.

Thnx.

i couldnt get it installed... might be the current intoxication im dealing with but here is what my system is... its a little old (just a little)

off the shelf HP pavillion a1217n
os: ubuntu 12.10
proccessor: 3.06 pentium 4 with ht technology

graphics: whatever came on board, i think its ether 256 or 512mb intel express
hdd: main is 500gb sata, also installed is 320gb sata and 250gb sata and 160 ide
optical: litescribe dvd-rw, cd-rw, also dvd-rw, cd-rw
