For the linux users out there. i made a custom kernel for your pc. kernel 3.9.6 with some tweaks. mainly bfs cpu scheduler.

if you want to check it out. you can obatain the installers here: Download Vortex Kernel

its in a tar.gz archive.. install the headers package first, then the image package.

this is amd and intel. 64bit only though

I didn't see any info/details about it over there. I'd like to know more about it before plunging in. :)

sure thing. what would you like to know ?

what i can tell you right off. this is linux 3.9.6
patched with the latest CK2 / BFS patches for Cpu Scheduling
Default cpu gov is performance
default iosched is noop

this is for 64bit amd and intel cpus

ive been running it myself for over a month strait. i havent had any issues.

also.. if something were to go wrong. you will still be able to boot into your stock kernel. it would be under --- previous linux versions in the grub menu

Gonna actually try this :)

EDIT: Or not. Dpkg isn't playing nicely (likely because my package manager is pacman).

Arch

Gonna guess this particular release was intended for Debian/*buntu

Which is obvious if I read the thread title... :banghead:
