Some of these are HTC Sense widgets and I don't use HTC Sense. If you do I'd advise against uninstalling those widgets. I've done it on the OG Evo and it gives you some issues, minor ones, but still some issues.

Good job guys, thanks again for being guinnea pigs for the rest of us!! :D

Do you remember which ones cause issues?

If so please let everyone know so we don't confuse anyone. :)

I'm really suprised you could delete all of those without having serious force closures all over the place.:p

Please for everyone that wants to get rid of bloat, freezethe app with titanium backup, or use the built in "disable" under Settings / Applications. Don't delete it unless you're sure you want too. ;)

I didn't get any issues, but a lot of what I uninstalled was Sense related. And I don't use Sense. I made sure to keep them all frozen for a couple days before uninstalling.

I would advise against uninstalling most of what I did if you guys use Sense. I use Nova Launcher and it hasn't given me any problems.

With Titanium, how you swap the back up file location from the internal sd to the ext sd? I can't get it to do it. I also most of the mentioned apps and restarted several times with no visible harm.

Find the folder of backups on your sd card (ext_sd). Copy the whole structure to your internal sd card. Then retry Titanium. You might have to restart Titanium. If you're getting superuser issues, use a file explorer like the one in ROM Toolbox or any app with superuser access.

FWIW, viper said he trimmed the following from his rom -

CheckinProvider.apk, DemoFLOPackageInstaller.apk, GSD.apk, GoogleFeedback.apk, HtcCOTAClient.apk, HtcFeedback.apk, MyReportAgent.apk, 4578_SPC_HTC_Mobile_Guide_Jewel.apk, Smith.apk and Transfer.apk

Your mileage may vary, proceed at your own risk, etc etc. ;)

Froze gmail, no problems.

Themikmik's list is big. I was going to edit my first post to two lists (Sense, Senseless) but it almost seems that links to his would make more sense.

What do you think?

Important Battery Tip!!

I run a notification bar widget that shows my CPU usage so I can check that on the fly at any time (Quick System Info PRO and go to prefs to turn it on).

So, I'm sitting at my desk, screen off, nothing running, and I decide to light it up and check my CPUs just for giggles and grins.

And I found that I had the primary core running at 1.5 GHz, secondary blinking on and off and 1.2 GHz and 70 to 80% cpu utilization on the primary.

I unlock and found that my dialer window was open under the lock. Back out of dialer to homescreen and suddenly, I'm back down to 14% running one core only at 384 MHz.

So, don't do that.

Second tip - seriously, root and get rid of bloatware. (I am about to do that, hopefully today, been pressed for time by real life so chance before.)

While I was typing this, I noticed that I spiked to 1.5 GHz for a few seconds - so I was lucky to catch that and even luckier that I could catch it in time to see the culprit:

HTC Check-in Service.

Thanks for the tip, I disabled HTC Check-in within hours of having the phone ha. Got rid of most of the other bloat too, I'm just weeding through files to see whats safe and whats not. I'll update my findings as I go.

If anyone wants to "Freeze" apps manually, I just use RootExplorer, and rename the apk to something else. Like Facebook.apk would become Facebook.apk.bak

By changing the extension the app is disabled, and by changing it back it comes back, naturally. I like doing it this way because if I goof up and start getting crash loops, I can ADB in and change the extension back.

As always, it's a great idea to keep an up to date NANDroid backups before you start meddling with the /system/app folder.

I would love to see a Sense/Senseless list. I'm not a big fan of Sense so a list would be helpful so I and other Senseless people could just go through and uninstall all of them.

Doesn't one need to have some sort of recovery in order to do this?

I sure wish there was an AmonRa recovery for the EVO LTE. I loved that on the EVO OG.

Yes, there are both TWRP and CWM available after you have used HTC DEV. If you used the other root method ( I have) this isnt an option.

I'll unlock and throw a custom recovery on once mik releases MikLatTE

I just got rid of it altogether.

Anything that I got as the FAOTD and actually find myself using I have bought from the play store

Another Important Battery Tip!

Freeze the Amazon app store when not in use - otherwise, it will constantly phone home to the mothership.

This is exactly why I won't use amazons app store. I love amazon and all, but that kind of usage is uncalled for.

Is it safe to assume that the disable option after selecting an app under settings -> applications -> all, is the same as freezing an app in Titanium?
