Help little help

I'm trying to connect my galaxy s2 to my computer to transfer files. But every tone I connect the usb to the computer it recognizes the phone only as a camera. Is there anything to fix this?

Did you install Kies from the rooting guide in the all things root section? It installs the Samsung drivers to work with your phone.

no because my internet is off so I do evening through my phone or I'll go to the library or somewhere to download flies, but it sup working recently.

Connect to your phone via WiFi with the kies air on your phone. it lets you access files via a web browser on your pc.

There is no Wi-Fi around me that I can use. My best bet is to usb tether to my computer. I don't even know how to do that.

And changing to mass storage is not working.

ok so i'm able to usb tether to my computer using the one port i skipped. but it's still recognizing my phone as a camera.

should i try to download the drive?

I had a digital camera that I told windows to just open it and it acted like a usb storage drive. Did you accidentilly once tell windows to treat it like a camera with the always do this box checked?

I would say go to Samsung and get the usb drivers while you can tether. You can connect directly to your pc with the wireless networking (it is easiest with a wireless router, but can be done direct).
