Help Live Wallpaper

Hey, having some trouble trying to find the files to install live wallpapers. Also, how do i install them once they're on the card etc. etc.

Followed beerkans tutorial for 2.1 and rooting but i have no idea of hw to do stuff lol

good call :D did that 2 minutes ago, cooked up a decent rom.

The nexus live wallpaper runs fine but the galaxy one is really laggy. That just me or is everyones like that?
 
The problems with beta, is to expect problems. I installed FE 8 Beta4 on a fresh re-install starting with
Install JH6 Via Odin
Install LK208 via Odin
Install Samdroid Kitchen via recovery
Install Samdroid Turbo FE8 Beta4. via recovery

So to be as safe as possible.. I'll install from afresh again. That is the only way you know, any problem is not the new beta, conflicting with the older beta.

I notice 1 or 2 problems in the Samdroid Turbo Thread on FE8 Beta 6. I'm going away for a few days, so I'm happy with the stability of Beta 4, therefore will wait in case Beta 7 is released.

The choice is yours. And of course you're better seeking and posting specific Samdroid Turbo questions and answers in he Samdroid Turbo forum.
 
Hi beerkan (or anyone else), I followed your root tutorial & it worked fine, but when i tried to install the kitchen mod, the phone tries to boot, i get 4 coloured dots swirling around then exploding into a pretty patern :), this goes on for a while then there's a pause and the phone boots again with the samdroid screen. this just keeps repeating itself. any ideas on what's happening?
 
You need to reboot into recovery screen and Wipe the Cache and Dalvik Cache.

To enter recovery mode manually, power off the phone, then press
Vol Down + Call + Power On

Once you clear these caches, the phone will take a couple of minutes to boot for the first time, then you should be good to go.

Once the phone's working, install the Samdroid Turbo mod.
 
Great, It worked, I've also installed samdroid turbo mod. Just some quick questions, I forgot to tick the live wall paper support tab.

if i re-cook, do i copy the file & replace the one on the micro sd card and install via recovery with frozen eclair still on? or should i also repeat the turbo mod?

also, what's the difference between Gallery3D - No background version (fastest) [Froyo Stable by Androbot] & Gallery3D - Dynamic background version [Froyo Stable by Androbot]

You can re-cook a Samdroid Mod but just with the LiveWallpapers.

Just select
Remove Package [x]
Live Wallapers [x]

Why not select both Gallery3D - No background version and Gallery3D - Dynamic background, and see for yourself.
 
Hi Beerkan, I re-cooked like you said, and installed via recovery but It's exactly the same as before, no live wall paper. any suggestions? thanks in advance.
 
To access LiveWallpapers:-

Press on backdrop like you were going to add a shortcut,
Wallpapers
LiveWallpapers
 
Yeah, i tried that but still not working, i think i'm gonna do a fresh re-install starting with
Install JH6 Via Odin
root phone via Odin
Install Samdroid Kitchen via recovery
Install Samdroid Turbo FE8 via recovery

and cook with live wall papers this time.

I now have live wall papers, a new start up logo & dynamic background galary is super cool. now only if it could cook me my lunch :)
 
oh dear, having lots of problems on my phone with live wall papers. I've had to turn it off.

Phone became very slow, kept having to take battery out and restart phone because I couldn't get past lock screen (phone would not unlock & then just freeze)

I even had samdroid turbo installed.
 
Hello.

I have installed the Kitchen mod and now i have the boot animation looking and then my phone resets. i have tried deleting both cache but this does not help. can you help?
 
I have just purchased the Samsung Galaxy Portal and miss not having live wallpapers, I'm not too good at all the intricate stuff, how can I get live wallpapers onto my phone without knackering it? :) Thanks
