Live wallpapers and battery/ram

Does anyone happen to know if live wallpapers keep on ram while using other apps?

My suspicion is no, because of the way android handles multitasking, but I'm debating on starting to use them again but this is holding me back a bit, just need a little reassurance that it doesn't keep in chached ram...

A live wallpaper is an app, and one that is frequently used. So I would expect Android to keep it cached unless RAM gets short - that would be more efficient than dumping it and having to reload every time you returned to the home screen.

So in other words while using other apps the live wallpaper is also running in the background?

Or does it get "frozen" like other apps?

While using other apps, the wallpaper becomes a non-active service-only process. IOW cached in RAM but using no power.

Haha yeah I assumed correctly then normally assuming makes a you know what out of you know who, so I had to make sure my thoughts were correct lol
