Help Live wallpapers not working even after factory reset

ish05

Lurker
I have the LG Optimus M from MetroPCS, running on 2.2. I removed the live wallpapers apk and odex files from my LG Optimus M phone, after rooting. I want then back, so I put the files back on my phone and did a factory reset but the live wallpaper functions still will not work. I went as far as trying to update my phone to 2.2.1 from the official MetroPCS and LG site and it won't even let me update to 2.2.1. LG Update tool says I reached a fatal error when downloading the update. Is there something I can do to either get my live wallpaper functionality back or manually update my phone to 2.2.1 and then re-root? If anyone has any ideas, I'd gladly like to know about them.

LiveWallpapers.apk &
LiveWallpapersPicker.apk
need to be in /system/app/

If you have those files on your sdcard, you need to move them to that location with root explorer or a similar file manager.
Once they are there, click on them and choose install, reboot after that and they should be back.

@ jabbawest. I tried that. It won't install. I just get the message"Application not installed". Though, Thank you for the reply. I see a lot of action on "all things root". Maybe I'll ask post my question there. Maybe my APK files are corrupt. I just don't know.

@jabbawest

I've tried the same thing as ish05 -

I get a parsing error, which ish05 may or may not be getting too.
Any tips for completing this re-installation?
I feel like I'm close to fixing this,
I could use your (or anyone's XD) advice.

Most system apps can't simply be "put back" once you delete/uninstall them. You have to use ADB Shell to push them back onto the phone. The instructions are around here somewhere. If I find them before you do, I'll edit this post.
