Loading a minimum amount of resources when re-booting

How can I pick and choose which apps load up when I reboot my phone.. I seem to have a bunch of apps that activate themselves everytime I reboot and they just sit in the background eating up precious battery.. Thanks for the help

If your phone has ICS or later I believe you can go into your settings>apps>all apps and disable or freeze apps that you don't use. This does not delete them but keeps them from loading or using the net to update. If the app has already been updated, you must first choose the option to remove updates before you have the option to disable. I hope this helps.
