Seen as though the Htc desire Hds headphone volume is appaling ( i can only really watch videos at night now) ive had to download subtitles for my media but am confused. Anyone know how to do this, is there a certain file type or something?

I have read that information about the video player app RockPlayer:
RockPlayer supports subtitles in .srt format.
You need a video file and a .srt file with exactly matching names placed in the same folder.
When you play video, RockPlayer will load subtitles automatically.

I'm not sure if Mobo will pick up the sub file and load it together with the video file. Try it.
If not, then simply mux them together (put the sub file into MP4 container).

Hey thanks Rockplayer works I have one more question.
Some episodes I download have the intro recap bit cut off, so the subtitles
start differently, is there any way off maybe delaying them
and deleting the begining bits so its all in sync.
(Without changing all the times individually)?

Syncing subs with video can be done on PC. There are many tools for that, such as Easy Subtitles Synchronizer or Time Adjuster.
