locale

Hello, could someone please help me?

I need to make a setting so that when I enter a certain area (my school), the ringer type switches to silent, WiFi turns on and screen brightness decreases.

I would truly appreciate if someone could give me a step-by-step instruction how to do this. I tried to make one but don't know if it works since I haven't been at the school now. When I have made the setting, should it be "on" when I see a red marker on the notification bar, saying "default"?

Hi guys!

Just got my new Samsung galaxy !

I've heard of Locale before getting the phone and it was the 1st app I installed.

But I would like the following which doesn't seem possible:

a) I want to trigger action based on wifi network detected, not location.
For example, when I go home and my network ssid "home" is detected

b) would really like to activate call forwarding when my home wifi is detected then when I leave home, wifi is not detected anymore so turn off "call forwarding"

I don't find a way to do that. Is there any other app that can do that if Locale can't ?

Thanks

locale can do that. I did this by setting up a "location". One way that phones can determine location is by knowing the place that a particular network is associated with.

Set up a location, when prompted with a location, choose the "train wifi" option. This will let you associate your wifi network with your home location.

Thanks MonkeyK for the quick reply.

I will try it, but I don't see any way to turn on/off "Call Forwarding" based on a location !?

Sorry, I can't see anything to enable/disable call forwarding either. It should be possible to script a shortcut to do this, but I have not had a need to learn the scripting environment yet.

I do a little bit like on my iPhone now...

Create a contact named "Call Forwarding" and put it in "favorites"

Then I create 2 entries:

1st: to activate call forwarding (call divert for all calls)

**21*number#

2nd: to disable call forwarding
##21#

So I just have to press the call key then favorites then the corresponding entry to enable or disable.

I took the android call divert codes here:
Secret_Star_Codes - android-roms - Secret Star Codes. - Project Hosting on Google Code

Maybe there will be a fastest solution anyday. Maybe locale developpers will add this option to their software.

1 week with the Sprint Hero and this app was on my list from the get go. However, I though I'd try setting it so as I arrived at someones house it would send a txt saying "I'm here" but it doesn't quite work right. It continues to send the txt while I'm there. It seems that maybe there should be a setting that says run once for something like SMS, am I missing something?

Thanks for any help
