Localized VoIP Application - Need help

Hey guys,

We have been asked to work on a project. And it is about VoIP but different form.

We want people to communicate but only connected in the same network. Think of WiFi called pederoski. And the people connected to this network have our application on their phones, that means they can call each other as long as they are connected to WiFi pederoski. But no one else outside network can be touched.

What if you start with an open source voip app such as sipdroid or one of these:

Then restrict it to only accept connections from an ip address whose subnet-masked address matches the current device's subnet-masked address.
