Help Location Settings - Best Option?

I try and keep as much as I can private on my android Lg devices.
However not sure which location setting is best.

I have it set to Device sensors only (Gps and Networks)
Which has always been fine.

However i now find that weather apps and other things are not working properly.
Telling me its a different day ( 3 days before) which is not helpful lol

I also thought the other 2 settings would drain my battery.
Any suggestions welcome.
I dont need total accuracy as dont really travel much.

I think "device only" means "just GPS" actually. Certainly is on any device I've used.

However, most weather apps require the wireless location to be enabled for them to provide a forecast for your current location, i.e. that works in "low power" (wireless only) or "high accuracy" (GPS + wireless) but not "device only". Personally I prefer not to share my location with Google (or anyone else) continuously, so use device only even though this means that these features do not work. I actually only use location for travel, for which I want the accuracy of GPS, so this does what I want.

However, I don't see how this has anything to do with the date being wrong in the weather app. That sounds like it's just not updated (which is network connection/refresh failure rather than location), unless your system date is wrong?

Hi. The weather app just keeps saying updated 3 days ago. Which is no help. I dont understand it as i have not changed any settings. If i tap sync it just tries for ages then gives up.
So is Device only Gps the best setting for privacy you think?
Dont want a complicated app just want to know if its going to rain lol

I think you have a different problem with the weather app. I had that with the BBC Weather app the other week after an update to the app. Since I was going away and wanted a version that worked I just reverted to an older version (rooted, so I just restored my Titanium Backup), then updated it again when I got back and this time it's working. So it may be that a simple uninstall+reinstall of the app will fix it.

Hi it is the BBC weather app i am having trouble with. Did reinstall but no change
Tried downloading others butvthey are too complicated.
Only want temperature and if its going to rain lol.

It could be that the weather app isn't able to obtain a GPS lock while the application is in the background, so that lack-of-lock is preventing it from updating regularly. Just my guess though.

You could try testing one of the other location access modes (High Accuracy, for instance) to see if that lets the weather update in the background. Or you could try another app to see if it works better for you - I'm lately a pretty big fan of Weather Timeline.
