Help Lock HW volume buttons when screen is off

My music volume keep getting turned down when the phone is in my pocket. I've never had a phone before where the hardware volume buttons were not locked while the screen was off.

I was wondering if there was a way to lock just the hardware buttons while the screen was off but still allow it to be changed via the bluetooth headset?

I've looked here but the application mentioned does not actually do that:

Yeah, that was listed in the thread I originally posted so I tried it.
You can use it to manually lock the buttons. Or set it so that you always have to confirm any volume change or it reverts back in 5 seconds which would be really annoying when not locked. You can also set up times schedules. I've not yet found a situation where I would need them though I can see where they may be useful to others.

There is no option to lock buttons based on phone lock state or similar. I am happy to press the home or power button to get to the lock screen before changing volume. My trouble is that I have to keep taking my phone out of my pocket to turn the volume back up when listening to music. Obviously I don't want to have to keep switching program profiles on the locker app all the time.
