Help Lock screen issue

Hi guys i have a international version samsung galaxy s3.the issue that i am facing is that even though i dont touch the lock button the srcreen it self wakes up then sleeps back and this keeps on happening after every few minutes

Seems odd, does it happen with no apps running in the background? If so then I guess this must be a hardware issue. If it doesn't then you must have an app which keeps causing the wake.
