Lock screen layout question

Is there a way to eliminate the time and date in the big circle on the lock screen (VZ LG3)? It messes up my photo wall paper. Thanks!

You need to go to settings>lock screen>allow widgets on lock screen. Then when you are back out at your lock screen, touch the very left border of your screen and swipe right. This is the new lock screen to customize.

I think you will still have to add some sort of widget, but you could use something much smaller and move it where you want.

Is there a way to eliminate your mobile carrier's name from under the clock, but still keep the clock and widgets???

I'm on Virgin Mobile and every time I want to change my wall paper to a photo of our baby girl there's a big "Virgin" written on her forehead...
