Help Lock screen option not available

Welcome to the forums Jimazour. Have you tried hitting the Setting key and going to Security? Once in Security change your Screen lock to anything but Swipe, Swipe doesn't have anywhere to setup a password or gesture or anything.

Hit Menu > Settings and scroll down to Lock screen then tap Screen lock. You will now see a list of options including PIN and Password.
