Help Lock screen question

Hi all,

So I have set a PIN lock screen because I like to keep my phone at least relatively secure. However, this means that whenever it is inside of 5 minutes (the time I set for it to activate the security) I jump straight from off to the screen I was on.

Is it not possible to require a slide unlock up till 5 minutes, then require the pin?

I don't think so: either the phone is locked or it isn't. There's no intermediate state.
