Lock screen shortcuts (circle notifications thingy) question

Hi,

I really like this feature, where a missed call or text message appears in a cirlce, and when you swipe it, it takes you directly to te notification. Just a few questions

1. What is this feature called? I can't find any way to edit it in the settings, so I dont know what its called.

2. Is there an option to make a notification for an e-mail? G-mail and other emails?

I don't know what they are called and I don't think you can change them.
