Help Lock Screen while on Phone Call?

Is this possible? My wife constantly hangs up on people when she rests the phone on her shoulder. I guess sometimes her face moves far enough away from the sensor to turn the display back on, then she hits the "End Call" button with her cheek accidentally. It's driving her crazy and making her hate the phone lol. I know there used to be an app we used when we had our BB's, didn't know if there is one for Android devices or not.

There is an app that a bunch of Hero owners used back in the day. Can't remember what it's called or anything though.

Another trick they used was to drag down the notification bar so the end call button was covered.

Moved to support/troubleshooting.

I just did a test run on the notification bar and it didn't work. After the sensor turned the screen back on, the notification bar was gone and the end call button was visible again.

Jus tell her to hit the home button which takes her to the main desktop.. the phone will still shut off (which is weird that her face is hitting the button because it should actually be off/the screen that is)

Hey Jay,
My wife was having the same issue which was driving her crazy & me more so as it rarely happens to me & I was at a loss so I spent a ton of time looking for a solution & so far the best I've found is free app on market called myLock utilities by myLock. The right screen cap on the market screen shows the lock overlay in use. More info at mylockandroid.blogspot.com There is a donate one which I'll be glad to purchase at this point if the app makes my wife happy. :D

We were not interested in the Quick unlock option but I did check the 'Show Status Notification' box as it sounded like it applied to more than quick unlock. I also checked the Back long-press unlock option as well so that now on the Aria pressing the trackball or touching back arrow for a few seconds unlocks it by removing the overlay. Note that the overlay does not show until the screen has gone off which requires the proximity sensor to be close enough to your head for long enough. At 1st I thought it wasn't working because it didn't show when the call was connected but it works well once you figure it out.

Anyway check that out & hope it works as well for you & your wife as it has for us.
Bill
