Lock screen while watching Youtube

Hi

I want to lock my screen while watching a youtube video, however when I do so It reverts to the Lock Screen and the video playback is stopped, I assume you must be able to lock it while playing media as if not whenever the screen is touched its either skips the video pauses or some other action is done.
I hope there is a setting I have missed rather than a "fault" so to speak.

I've found that with YouTube, it's always like this. You can lock your phone with other apps, like Pandora, Jango, etc and they still play. However, youtube is not developed to be that way.
