Help Lock transition effect

Loving my Nexus 5, had it for just over a week.

The only thing that bugs me is when I lock the screen - the really odd transition effect like an old school TV switching off.
Any way to change this?

That's a normal animation for all nexus 5 devices

Custom ROMs have had the option to turn it off in the past. I'm not sure if there's one that does it on the N5 just yet.

PS: I Really love the effect, and have since the days of my OG Droid.

Yes there is you must have developer options on, what i did was turn on off window animation scale,transition animation scale,animator duration scale. Insta on and off.
