Help Locked Home Screen

seochris

Newbie
I used a PIN to lock the home screen. I dont need to lock the home screen any more so want to disable it.....but cant.

The bit where is says NONE in the Select Screen Lock menue says "Disabled by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage"

As to the best of my knowledge i have not done anything to enable these facilities just don't know where to go!

Welcome to the forum:)

Are you rooted or running a custom ROM? Do you have anything under settings, security, device administrators?

No rooted or custom roms.....and I did not do anything as far as I now in device administrators, settings or anything else...

I'll move this over to the main gs3 forum. More people will see it there, so we should get you sorted:)

I dont wana say yes or no lol. If its gona cause you a lot of stress having to set up all your apps etc again then dont do it unless someone can confirm that its gona fix your problem mate :)

in addition to Funky's reply, perhaps you could try HELIUM to back it up.

I had hard times restoring my backup from KIES. It almost never got it right.
With Helium, you can back all the apps or just the app data. And even tho you will need to install the apps in order to restore that data, but Helium restores it it very well.

Yeah unless youre rooted, Helium is the only way i know of to properly back up apps and their settings(data)

I know I'm quoting your older post here, but I was reading thru this again.

In the device administrators, is there anything listed there.

I know you said, "I didn't do anything as far as I know in device admin", but did that mean nothing was in there?

No...nothing in there at all.

If you go to settings, security can you clear credentials right at the bottom or its the option greyed out? If you can clear, try clearing it. Also have you set up a vpn? If so try removing that.
