Help locked screen?

i recently used my friends motorola defy, when you first turn the screen on there is a screen like this

Then when you slide across the padlock icon, the pattern unlock screen appears.

on the galaxy apollo, can you do this? or is it one or the other?
is there a mod availiable to make this possible?

It has a similar lock screen. But you can easily mod the buttons to look like that if you're good enough with photoshop
