Help Locking Icons and more

[Android Question]

Hi,

My brother is having some problems with his phone at the moment. Unfortunately he has a brain tumour and his mind is starting to struggle, so he's often blaming his phone for doing things like "pocket" dialling and the home-screen icons dissapearing. However, we think this may just be because he's not aware that he's actually holding and moving icons away accidentally and pressing some buttons mistakenly.

So I was wondering if there are any apps/launchers that can do the following:

1. Lock the icons on a screen. That is, I can set up all the apps he needs to use on the home screen of his phone such that he can't accidentally move them about.
2. Add a "Are you sure" popup or something of the kind when trying to phone someone. That is, when the call button is pressed, there is an added layer of confirmation such that he can tell it's phoning someone.

And in general, if you know of any apps/launchers or anything that can help someone in a situation like his it would be greatly appreciated.

Nova launcher will let you lock the icons and not let you change them without following on screen instructions.

Others probably have similar features, I don't know if you can find any that won't offer an unlock for the locked icons but I'm not sure.

Search the Play Store for "pocket dial" you'll find a number of choices, you'll have to try some to see what works right with his phone, it's a quirky thing to control. Maybe start with this one -

If you make ordinary shortcuts to contacts on the homescreen instead of direct dial shortcuts, when you press one it will pop up a contact box where you choose which number to call, or to text or email them. Much like you described, maybe not exactly, but close.

I use 'Call Confirm' by 7bit. Works great. Pops up a message box that allows you to make or cancel the call.
