Locking phone by covering screen?

cephilia

Lurker
So my parents have the S4 and they can lock the phone by simply covering the screen with the phone case "lid". I've been looking around on my S5 and can't seem to find that function, does it not exist on the S5 or have I simply not found it yet?

Welcome to the forums, cephilia! :hello:
It's likely they have a flip case with magnets to turn on and off the screen (like the ones for the iPads and many others). There's the S-View cases:
Amazon.com: Samsung S-View Flip Cover for Samsung Galaxy S5 Black - Retail Packaging - Black: Cell Phones & Accessories
(you can get one to allow wireless charging, but it'll cost you quite a bit more)
And one that's likely closer to theirs on the S4 is the wallet case that covers the entire display as opposed to the S-View one:
