locking volume control

I have dowloaded a couple of apps (Lock volume and Ringer Volume Control) to lock the volume switch on the side of the phone because I am constantly hitting it by mistake and changing it. Both of these apps don't seem to do anything. What am I doing wrong?

I think I might have figured it out... could it be because I have down loaded a 'no lock' app? I have turned that off and now, when I lock my phone, when I grab it on the volume controls, it will not change the volume.

But, I can't see what the new app Volume Locker actually does?

Does anyone else use Volume Locker?

I have volume locker on my OG Droid (just ordered the DInc2). Whenever a change in volume occurs it prompts me with a popup to verify i want to change it. It i don't reply within so many seconds it reverts back to the previous volume setting. It doesn't do this during a call though. It's been very handy on the OG Droid as the volume rocker has a high profile. Sounds like I may need it on DInc2 as well.
