Hi all,
I am a new Android user and first poster (coming from Iphone 3GS, please don't flame...). So I am quite happy with this phone and the general Android experience. Obviously, being human, I couldn't help but try to find some of the functionalities I was used to under IOS.
The biggest issue I face so far is the lockscreen notifications. There are a couple issues here:
1. It seems that unless I use the slide unlock, I won't see the notifications on the lockscreen (except for the tiny symbol at the top left of the screen). Unfortunately I use pattern recognition... I'd be willing to use pin lock, but I have to secure the phone somehow, so sliding is out of the question. I cannot imagine running around with an unprotected smartphone. Is it really impossible to see notifications in the lockscreen then?
2. When I am at work my phone is on my desk in vibration mode. If I get a message, I don't necessarily feel the vibration. On IOS, the screen would light up briefly (10 or 20 seconds) and display the incoming message. I would always see that. With the Xperia T, you get a tiny blue LED in the top left. It is so tiny that I have to lift the phone to within 20cms of my eye to see if it is flashing. So I have to resort to manually checking frequently if new messages have arrived. Can someone confirm that there is indeed no way to have the phone screen light up when a new message arrives? After all, it does it when phone calls come in.
Other than that I have to say, a beautiful phone and endless functionality! Though I wish my thumb was a couple of cms longer ...
